Luis is an international sports lawyer based primarily in Mallorca (Spain) with experience of matters across Europe and Asia. Formerly working as Club Secretary and Legal Counsel for an English football club, he has a wide knowledge of the football industry in England, particularly in relation to disciplinary proceedings and regulatory matters.
He has an ample experience in football disciplinary procedures on and off the field and has been instructed in matters before FIFA and TAS / CAS. Luis has assisted federations, clubs and intermediaries from across the globe in their contentious and non-contentious matters, including contract drafting and overdue payables.
Luis has been Called to the Bar of the Balearic Islands, and was a practitioner prior to moving to Madrid to undertake the Master in International Sports Law at the world-renowned Instituto Superior de Derecho y Economía (ISDE), from which he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Luis has since participated in several sessions in diverse master programmes at both ISDE in Madrid and Wolfson College (Cambridge University).
Luis has always been engaged in sporting activity, having played football for the youth division at Real Mallorca, as well as futsal. In addition to this, he had a career as football referee which spanned over 10 years, and saw him officiating in several important matches within the Spanish professional football pyramid. His next objective is having a decent golf handicap.
